Strategy and Culture

CME can assist clients to develop HR Strategies which complement and inform wider business strategy. Our Consultants can support the entire strategy process from planning and development, to project management and implementation.

Ideally HR and Business Strategy should define the type of culture required in a business. CME has an online tool called Mettle Culture Gauge which was developed from years of experience in organisational culture. The Gauge consultation process helps you to define, measure and create the right culture for your business and link it to your strategy.

Assessment

CME has 50 years’ experience of assessing people in the workplace. We use a scientific approach to assess behaviour, based on the formula B=Fn (P.E), meaning that behaviour is a function of the interaction between the person (P) and the environment (E).  An assessment methodology is developed for each client requirement, which can range from candidate assessment for recruiting a single position, to assessing an entire company for a talent management project.

CME Assessment tools include:

  • Psychometric assessment - including CME proprietary tools (e.g. Humm Wadsworth Temperament Questionnaire and CompAssess) and ‘best of breed’ psychometric assessment tools in the market

Leadership and Team

CME has a range of resources which can be used to develop people into great leaders. The key resources are the Developing Leader Model and the Mettle Leadership Gauge which provide a holistic approach to development.

Both of these tools include 360 degree surveys to enable the leaders to self assess and facilitate feedback from the wider team regarding leadership qualities. The Leadership Gauge is particularly useful as it can be used to demonstrate progress and movement of developing leaders.

Assessment and Development Centres

Assessment and development centres are used to assess multiple people in one session. Centres involve several activities, often from the list above, which are designed to measure a person’s behaviours across a range of competencies and/or skills. We work with clients to map the relevant competencies which need to be measured and incorporate these into a competency matrix.

A range of assessment tools is identified to measure the mapped competencies a number of times throughout the assessment centre. We include activities which measure observational, interpretive and direct evidence to ensure that a complex competency map of a person can be developed during the assessment centre. Assessment centres reduce the likelihood of costly recruitment mistakes as they are proven to be accurate predictors of job performance.

Career Management

CME's 'Proteus' team is dedicated to Career Transition work. The team provides a personalised career management service for people who have been recently been made redundant. The service includes life coaching, motivational support and targeted career coaching discussions and support.

Participants can complete profiling activities to gain an insight into their abilities and competency profile. The outputs of the profiling assists in identifying career options which match an individual's competency strengths. In addition, the profiles can give ideas for training courses and inform the next steps in their career.

Learning and Development

Learning and development programmes can be used to manage and retain talent within your business. Research has shown that if employees feel they are valued and are developing their skills they are more likely to be engaged and motivated to stay with an employer.

We have a wealth of experience in designing specialist, customised learning and development programs to suit employee and organisational needs. These programs are aimed at issues currently impacting upon business. In addition we have a suite of ‘off the shelf’ courses including: Managing with Insight, Assertiveness Skills, Behavioural Interviewing, Managing Change and Emotional Resilience.

HR Consulting

The range of HR Consulting Services that CME can provide are very broad, but they have the same aims in common – to work in partnership with clients to improve their business efficiency, find the potential talents of their people and nurture this talent through all levels of the business.

Consulting services include: Change management, competency profiling of business roles and position descriptions, performance management, developing organisational structure, success profiling of high performing employees, succession planning and talent management processes. These services can include some of assessment activities listed above, as well as consultancy and technological innovations.

Graduate and Volume Recruitment

We have the expertise to develop and manage Graduate and Volume Recruitment Programs, sometimes referred to as ‘Project Recruitment’.  Effective volume recruitment relies upon a tailored assessment methodology and cutting edge technology to identify the best fit candidates from a large pool of applications.  We can deliver this type of solution and give it the look and feel of our client’s culture to ensure a streamlined and positive experience for candidates.
